Piper painted on the easel outside today with Sophie for the first time. She frequently draws with chalk or markers, but today we broke out the paints. We mixed up some basic colors of washable tempura and went at it. Piper thoroughly enjoyed herself, but she refused to wear her smock and she also refused any help from me. The result was rather messy…but fun!

Sophie and Piper went to Walker Felton’s bowling party at Twin Lanes Bowling Alley and had a great time. Piper really enjoyed pushing the ball down the lane.

I have been very remiss in blogging, but I hope to get better now that the kids are in school. Speaking of school, Piper and Sophie went to Piper’s first day of school together this year at Sundrops Montessori. Here are some pictures from the first day!!

Pippy, I will name our strawberry plants as “Piper’s Berry Patch” because you eat far more of them than Sophie does, considering the fact that you eat all the white ones…

Piper was thrilled to see snow in our backyard this morning…

Here is a picture of her before she became cold…

Piper is snowman obsessed. She says, “Na na” for “snowman,” thanks to Aunt Pat’s gift years ago (the dancing snowman). She was especially happy to see a real live snowman in our yard.

…and she was done. She lasted about 10 minutes before she had had enough of the cold. That’s why we live in Charleston…

Although she was here (NY) when it snowed last year, she was only 3 months old, so she couldn’t really enjoy it. Now, she likes to go out in it, but she really wants to touch it, and then her hands get cold. So we only go out for a few mintues at a time. Those minutes are filled with laughter and wonder. She’s quite the snow bunny…

She can do some of the work at Sophie’s school, and she can build pretty tall structures out of foam blocks. She is extremely smart, but very quick! Almost every picture I have of her is blurry, but she keeps me fit and for that I thank her.
